Main Street – NKP
I finally decided this picture is
looking south probably at a point east of near the middle of the runway.
The building on the right reminds me of the Personal Equipment building
where we picked up our flying gear before missions and returned it afterward.
I believe the buildings on the left were additional barracks built as
the base expanded in late 1966. I
believe the previous picture of Red Horse construction, shows these buildings
during construction, but I may be mistaken.
If so, the 23rd TASS Headquarters building would be a couple
of hundred yards back from behind the photographer on the same side of the
street as the Personal Equipment building.
Task Force Alpha would have been at least a half mile farther back and
built off to the opposite (east) side of the road.
