Bat Cat

The graceful C-121s flew the skies about Thailand and Laos and the Gulf of Tonkin.  See the CHECO Report on College Eye in the section on Southeast Asia Information for more details about the C-121’s role in monitoring air traffic over North Vietnam and Laos.  After the sensors were installed along the Ho Chi Minh Trail beginning in late 1967, C-121s picked up data from the sensors for use in analyzing truck traffic on the Trail.

Note all the antennas on the bottom of the aircraft.  The C-121s normally carried a crew of more than 20, so when they crashed, we lost a lot of good men.
