The World’s Most Famous Cricket Assigned to NKP
In the spring of 1966, the
Cricket FACs asked the Walt Disney Studios to design an appropriate patch for
the newly formed 23rd Tactical Air Support Squadron. Once a two-way radio was added to the handle of his famous
umbrella, Jiminy Cricket was ready to join the Crickets of the 23rd
TASS in searching for the trucks of the Steel Tiger.
Note: This patch was made from
my original Cricket patch, which I received in early 1967. This one has 3 or 4
fewer differences in colors than the original but otherwise matches the
original image.
