O-1 Ground Loop at NKP (second view)

This view suggests that O-1s are an easy aircraft to work with. (Note: In the sky above the O-1, you see some bleed through from the first picture that was copied on the back of this one.) As I see this aircraft, it makes me wonder if the 23rd TASS Maintenance Troops rebuilt the bird and perhaps I flew it in the following months.  On 17 July 1967, one of our pilots crash landed about 4 miles east of the airfield and flipped the O-1 when it hit the dike at the end of a short rice paddy.  The Maintenance Troops hauled that one home on a truck and it was flying again in a month or so.
