Almost a millionaire???
The exchange rate for Kip (The Laotian Currency) was 8000 to one dollar, so my $50 exchanged at the border became 400,000 Kip. Made me wish I'd changed $125 to get a million kip. This is what 400,000 Kip looks like. Each 5000 Kip note was worth about sixty-two and a half cents.
